Null

Kingsmere Guest House is located off of Ocean Road, which means you have ready access to the shops, restaurants and bars of South Shields. The guest house has a comfortable tranquillity, being set back away from the main road, yet a five minute stroll in one direction will have you on the gorgeous beaches and access to Bents Park where there are many free concerts, exhibitions etc held throughout the year. All but one of our rooms are en-suite, the remaining room has access to its own private bathroom. There are colour TV's with Freeview, tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water & complimentary toiletries in each room. We offer a varied breakfast menu from The 'Full English' to American Pancakes with Maple Syrup.

The first recorded inhabitants of South Shields were from a Celtic tribe called the Brigantes. They founded a settlement called Caer Urfa ("The Town on the Rock") from which our Terrace takes its name.

The Romans arrived in South Shields in AD80 and built a fort to supply Hadrian's Wall. You can visit the wonderfully renovated fort around the corner from the Guest House.

If you would like to sail across the Tyne from South Shields, the ferry landing stage is a short walk away from the guest house.
